Ramesh aravind's father P.A. Govindachari was an accountant who went on to start his own business. Of his mother Saroja Ramesh says "I am what I am because of her."

Elder brother Sridhar runs a fabrication unit in Bangalore. Younger brother Suresh works for multi national company.All 3 brothers are mechanical engineers. Sister Meera is married and settled at mascat.
