The audio of Nam Anna Don was launched in a very unique way - "on mobile phones"

At the launch held in a city hotel, the entire team of the film was visibly excited about the creative move. Ramesh Aravind recollected how Bill Gates had launched a CD sitting on a stack of files. “Someday, the CD had to make space for something new and when we came across the idea of releasing the audio of the movie on mobile phones, the first thought that crossed my mind was ‘what an idea sirji’,” he said and added, “every home may not have a CD player or a cassette player but they do have a mobile phone and this was the best way to reach out to the masses.”

Available only on Idea Cellular network, the subscribers can hear or download the songs by dialling 543213 for Rs 30 per month. “And they can hear the songs as many times as they want to. One can also go online and download the song from the internet,” said Ravijoshi, the producer. While Siva Ganapathi, chief operating officer, Idea Karnataka region, said that this was the first time any film’s audio had been launched on mobile phone.

Ramesh also said that there were many advantages of this kind of a launch.

“Not only does it curb piracy to an extent but it also allows the consumers to download only those songs that they like to hear.”

Sana, who plays an important role in the film, described this launch as a unique way to explore the internet media. Mona, the heroine, while addressing the audience said if the audio launch had so much to offer, one can look forward to the film itself as it has many things to offer.
